Kleinhardt's Going Green 'Learn, Do and Save' workshops project aims to involve many small businesses in North Queensland and the Northern Territory to highlight the advantages of using "green" business practices.
Participants will be trained in easy to understand methods of how to implement environmental sustainability practices.
The program will target 800 small businesses in the tourism, agriculture, engineering and retail sectors and cover Cairns, Port Douglas, Mossman, Cooktown, Tully, Innisfail, Mareeba, Atherton, Ravenshoe, Cardwell, Ingham, Charters Towers, Thuringowa, Ary/Home Hill in Queensland, and Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
We partnered with Kleinhardts to be a facilitator under the EPA ECOBIZ program.
The consultancy works both independently and in collaboration with other
consultants to help companies across northern Australia improve performance
through implementing eco-efficiency processes and innovations. A special
area of interest is corporate transitions and the development of "learning"
organisations where sustainability becomes an enabling strategy to achieve
existing company goals with engagement throughout the organisation, the
supply chain and customers.

Carbon Reporting and Offset Solutions is a partnership between Kim Forde of the Missing Link-Resource Coordinators and Steve Welsh – Biodiesel Australia to deliver eco-footprint auditing across Tropical North Queensland based on their combined experience in the environmental and tourism areas of the region. The primary audience so far for such audits has been those innovative members of TTNQ seeking Planet Safe Accreditation. Kim and Steve’s combined skills provide verification of environmental performance, practical solutions to reduce eco-footprint and improve business eco-efficiency and links to offsetting programs and opportunities locally in non-technical and pro-active language.
Stephen Welsh is currently CEO of Biodiesel Queensland and All Hours Communications, a call centre for the Tourism Industry. Stephens’ history in Cairns has been centred on the Tourism Industry and with the establishment of Carbon Reporting and Offset solutions with Kim Forde and Biodiesel Queensland he has shifted focus to address the growing environmental concerns of both the Tourism Industry and the broader community.
Stephen brings a lifetime of Tourism and Hospitality Industry to the role with local board positions including Director of TTNQ, ten years as President of the backpackers association, AMPTO (Australian Marine Park Tourism operators assn.) and Dive Queensland. Stephen’s history gives him a unique insight in to the operations and requirements of the Tourism Industry allowing him to customise environmental solutions which are practical and cost effective, and most important, easy to implement and relevant to each section of the Industry.
